The Andover municipal water system has issued a boil water advisory effective immediately for the village of Andover. Elevated levels of E Coli were discovered during a routine water sample testing and reported to the New York State Department of Health immediately. Repeat sampling confirmed the issue.
Village Supervisor Matt Zengerle states that the boil water advisory will be in place until further notice and he will be "working every day until this is resolved." You might have noticed it's Saturday night and he was able to be reached for comment this evening.
Matt will be working with other officials to assess the water system and strategize the best way to disinfect the system and prevent further recontamination. Until this is achieved all persons with village water should boil all water for drinking or drink bottled water.
The complete notice issued by the village is below.
